BEST TIPS FOR NAILS EVER










  • Make sure the nail polish remover is acetone-free, as it strips nail of its natural oils, making them dull and dry. Use any remover only thrice a month.                                                                        
  • Massage a rich cream into your cuticle at least twice a week. Use alpha hydroxy cream if the cuticle is damaged.
  • To get rid of fungus or infection use a blend of Tea tree oil and lavender oil.
  • Treat nails with a hot essential oil soak. Heat Jojoba oil with two to three drops of rosemary oil. Wait until it becomes cool, then soak hands and nails for ten minutes. The heat aids absorption of the Jojoba oil and healing essential oil. For splitting nails, put on gloves after the hot oil treatment and leave them for ten minutes or overnight for best results.
  • At bedtime moisturize your nails and cuticles and cover them with cotton gloves.
  • Avoid using nail polish remover more than twice a month.
  • Repair splits or tears with nail glue or clear polish.
  • Take 300 micro grams of the B vitamin biotin four to six times a day, to make your nails as strong and resilient as a horse’s hooves. A Swiss research states that people who take 2.5 milligrams of biotin a day for 5.5 months had firmer, harder nails.
  • The right diet also plays a major role in strong and healthy nails. Therefore add a glass of milk and a hard-boiled egg to your daily diet. Diet rich in zinc, will do wonders to your nails, especially if your nails have white spots.
  • Rub your nails with lemon to keep them extra strong and shiny.
  • To keep your nails at their strongest, avoid filing in a back-and-forth motion, move only in one direction. Avoid filing nails just after getting out of a shower or bath as, wet nails break more easily.
  • Rub a small amount of petroleum jelly into your cuticle and the skin surrounding your nails before going to bed, this helps in keeping your nails hydrated. If you hate using petroleum jelly, then substitute it with Castor oil. Castor oil is thick and contains vitamin E, which is great for your cuticles. You can also use olive oil.
  • While washing dishes or doing any housework wear rubber gloves. For extra hand softness, apply hand cream before you put on the rubber gloves.
  • Drink eight to ten glasses of water every day this will help in keeping nails from drying out and peeling. Gelatine dietary supplements, available in a drinkable form, also helps in building nail strength from the inside out by thickening weak nails.
  • Diet rich in vitamins A, E & Biotin makes nails stronger. Vitamin A can be found in green, yellow and orange vegetables, while good sources of vitamin E include nuts and leafy green vegetables. Biotin is a B vitamin found in eggs, almonds, soybeans and sweet potatoes.
